Guided Counting Made Simple!
Why Janie’s Game?
Everyone deserves to experience the fun of games. Too often, traditional games leave out players with disabilities or create unnecessary barriers. Janie’s Game was designed to change that.
How to Play
FRONT SIDE: REGULAR SOLITAIRE
The front of Janie’s Game features Regular Solitaire, designed with a number column along the right side to guide players as they count backward while moving cards between columns.
As players build toward the top, they’ll count forward to complete the game and fill the four Ace spaces to win.
This helps strengthen focus, sequencing, and confidence in backward counting.
BACK SIDE: REVERSE SOLITAIRE
Reverse Solitaire on the back, plays the game in Reverse of regular solitaire.
The Counting column guides players to count forward as players move cards from one column to another.
Then the player counts backwards to win when they move all cards UP to the top four King spaces.
This version offers a new way to think and play, encouraging problem-solving and flexible thinking.
Gameplay Tips
1.
Alternate red and black cards while stacking in the center columns!
2.
Build piles by suit as your move cards up to the home spaces to win.
The Janie Method
When Sandy first created the game for Janie, she noticed that counting backward was a challenge.
By using the number column as a visual and tactile guide, Janie could easily identify which cards she needed next, learning to think independently and play with confidence.
Over time, Janie became skilled at counting both forward and backward, but she still uses the number column to check her progress and think through each move.
That’s what this game is all about: helping players build skills, confidence, and joy through play.
Independent Play
At Janie’s Game, we encourage independent play.
This approach promotes decision-making, sequencing, and memory skills while allowing players to experience the pride and joy of accomplishment.

Meet Sandy
& Janie
When Sandy saw that traditional games were not always easy for her stepdaughter, Janie, she created An Old Game Made New.
Every part of the game was carefully considered, making it perfect for individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism, or ADHD. The structure also makes it a wonderful fit for Seniors who need extra support with memory.
The result is more than a card game. It is a joyful way to learn, strengthen memory, and most of all, have fun together. When games are created with love, they invite everyone to the table.
